Black and White Wednesday: "Just for the Grell of It" by Carl Gafford

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophile! Long-time readers know that Ol' Groove is a huge fan of Iron Mike Grell. Why do I dig Grell so much? Aquaman. Legion of Super-Heroes. Green Lantern. Green Arrow. Warlord. Starslayer. Jon Sable. Need I say more? Heck, the very first post on Diversions was about Grell's return to Warlord, lo these nearly five years ago. Check the archives and you'll find lots more Grell-centric posts--but as yers trooley is wont to say, there's never too much of a good thing! So Ol' Groove was digging back through some issues of Amazing World of DC Comics (DC's answer to FOOM Magazine--yeah, there are plenty of AWoDC posts in the archives, too) and found this far-out interview with Iron Mike conducted by (now veteran colorist and editor) Carl Gafford in AWoDC #12 (July 1976). Hope you dig it as much as Ol' Groove does!
Holy Burt Ward (!?) appearance!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
